Oil has begun to be transported from West Don and Don Southwest fields in the UK North Sea to the Thistle platform.
The oil is being moved via a pipeline built by engineering and construction company Petrofac, Oil & Gas Journal reported.
Before the pipeline was constructed, the fields had been producing into shuttle tankers that were loading from a single anchor leg mooring system.
Now the company has brought a second production well on stream at Don Southwest.
Last year the oil production at the fields totalled three million bbl. Petrofac announced at the end of last year that it expected the combined production from the fields to increase this year from 15,000b/d to around twice that amount.
Petrofac and Swedish independent oil and gas exploration and production company Lundin have announced plans to combine their UK North Sea assets into a new company called EnQuest.
This week Petrofac posted fullyear net profit of $353.6 million (£233 million) ahead of forecasts, which was helped by winning contracts in its engineering and construction division.
