Extension of the DabholBangalore gas pipeline network is expected to be completed by March 2012.
According to Goas union minister for petroleum and natural gas Murli Deora, the survey for the laying of the gas pipeline extension, which will pass through Belgaum to Goa and the compilation of field date for Right of Use notifications is already underway.
The news was issued by Goa MP Shantaram Naik in a press release sent to the Times of India.
Total cost of the DabholBangalore pipeline is expected to reach RPS 45 billion (£600 million).
This will include the cost of a 36km long Goa pipeline will pass through the talukas of Bicholim, Ponda and Mormugao, Deora informed Naik; and a 175km spur pipeline, which will start in Gokak and end at Zuari Industries in Goa.
Recently, Zuari Industries announced that it had outperformed the market by a wide margin during the past year, despite the impact of the global economic downturn.
