CICSA pipeline construction contract could create recruitment

Published on Thursday 7th January 2010

Mexican construction company Caro Infraestructura y Construccion (CICSA) has been awarded a pipeline construction contract by stateowned oil firm Petroleos Mexicanos (Pemex).

The $32 million (£19.9 million) contract involves the firm building a 14.7 km pipeline in the south of the country, Pipelines International reported.

It has been estimated that the construction of the 36 inch diameter pipeline will be finished in 12 months.

Once completed, the pipeline will transport oil from the Bateria Samaria II gas complex in the southeastern state of Tabasco to the Cactus gas station in Chiapas state.

Pemexs operations, which are spread throughout Mexico, range from exploration and production to refining and petrochemicals. It accounts for a third of the Mexican governments revenues and around seven per cent of its export earnings.

Last year Pemex awarded a $1.3 billion tenyear contract for the maintenance of its offshore oil transport system in the Tabasco and Campeche areas of the Gulf of Mexico to the newlyformed Mexican company DMGP Servicios de Integridad.ADNFCR2586ID19541776ADNFCR
