Oil and gas recruitment may be set to get a boost as the demand for liquefied natural gas (LNG) increases.
This is according to Tim Cordano, president of LNG at ExxonMobil, who was cited by Reuters.
Speaking at the CWC World LNG Summit in Barcelona recently, he predicted that there will be a greater desire for purchase of the resource.
He said the industry would continue to grow and eventually make up ten per cent of total gas demand by 2020.
Furthermore, Mr Cordano said he expected the use of LNG to surge by 40 per cent in this time frame which could be good news for oil and gas recruitment.
"By 2020 we forecast gas demand to increase by about 25 percent from todays level to almost 400 billion cubic feet a day," he remarked.
In related news, Chevron recently awarded early engineering upstream contracts for its Wheatstone LNG project to Techip and Intecsea.
