TNKBP has announced plans to transport oil to Asia in news that may be promising for oil and gas recruitment in the region.
Senior vicepresident for sales, trading and logistics Jonathan Kollek said the first transportation of the resource will commence in January between the Upper Chonskoye field in east Siberia to the Kozmino marine terminal.
According to an upstreamonline report, this will initially take place via pipeline to the Talakan oilfield. From there is will enter the East SiberiaFar East oil export conduit, which is 3,000 kilometres in length.
The news provider noted the expectation of TNKBP that some 15 million barrels of Upper Chonskoye oil will be conveyed to the continent throughout next year.
Rossneft is to become the first transporter of oil from Kozmino. It said 73 million barrels of oil will be taken from its Vankor oilfield via the new pipeline route to Asia.
In other Russian oil and gas recruitment news, French energy giant GDF Suez recently announced it was "on the verge" of signing an agreement over the Nord Stream Project.
