An Indian pipeline project over the next three years could provide oil and gas recruitment opportunities in the region.
Indian Oil Corp, the countrys largest oil company, will undertake laying conduits to transport crude oil and petroleum.
According to minister of state for petroleum and natural Jitin Parasada, the network will cover the states of Assam, Orissa, Wet Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Gujurat, Rajasthan, Delhi and Haryana.
He said some Rs46.50 billion (£597.7 million) will be invested into the scheme, with Rs31.68 billion for implementing new conduits and Rs14.82 billion for new product lines.
"The projects are expected to take 30 to 36 months from the date of investment approval by the Board," Mr Parasada remarked.
One channel will run from offshore to the Paradip refinery in Orissa that is currently under construction.
Another will be laid from Paradip to Ranchi via Sambalur and Raipur.
Meanwhile, India recently proposed to invest some $6.5 billion in developing gas fields in Iran.
