Oil and gas recruitment: Technip awarded Ghana pipeline contract

Engineering, technologies and project management firm Technip has announced its successful bid for a Ghana pipeline project, in emerging oil and gas recruitment news.

Tullow Ghana has contracted the company for the development of pipelines and associated infrastructure at the Jubilee oil field, located off the countrys coast.

According to Technip, the field has water depths of between 1,200 metres and 1,700 metres.

It stated the first of two contracts will see the construction of seven teninch diameter and two eightinch diameter risers, which will stretch to a total length of over 27 kilometres (km).

They will be made in the firms plant in France and will be available for the beginning of 2010.

Meanwhile, the second agreement consists of engineering, fabrication and installation of 48 km of gas injection rigid flowlines, as well as 26 km of umbilicals, nine flexible risers and subsea manifold and riser base structures.

In terms of oil and gas recruitment, Technip currently employs 23,000 people in 46 countries across the world. By 2010 it expects to have a fleet of 19 vessels.ADNFCR2586ID19425499ADNFCR
