Kazakhstan may supply oil for the SamsunCeyhan pipeline, in emerging East Kashagan Project news.
Oil for the scheme, which will see the conduit link Turkeys Black Sea and Mediterranean coasts, could be supplied from the Kashagan and Karachaganak fields.
The news comes from Russian prime minister Vladimir Putin, who spoke to Turkish leader Tayyip Erdogan this week concerning the development, according to reports.
Kazakhstan Today cited Kazak president Nursultan Nazarbayev as saying: "We have supported construction of the oil pipeline BakuCeyhan and now we are ready to participate along with Russia in the project of the oil pipeline SamsunCeyhan."
The pipeline, which is expected to stretch for 550 kilometres, will have a maximum capacity of 1.5 million barrels a day.
Reuters noted Eni chief executive Paolo Scaroni statement that oil from the Kashagan and Karachaganak fields could potentially be used to fill the channel.
In other news, it was recently asserted that exportation and transportation of gas from Kazakhstan would be driven by production increases in the East Kashagan Project by Wood Mackenzie analyst Ian Thom.
