Oil pipeline company Transneft has obtained a crude oil terminal in Ust Luga, those looking at oil and gas recruitment may be interested to discover. It is currently working on a Baltic pipeline project between Unecha and Ust Luga, which analyst IHS Global Insight tells the Oil and Gas Journal could have influenced the decision. The Baltic Pipe System2 project is a method of rerouting exports via the Druzhba pipeline, it claims. "Acquiring the terminal from Gunvor will help the Russian pipeline operator synchronise the terminal and pipeline in one project," the group suggests. Vladimir Dmitriyev, chairman for supervisory board Vnesheconombank, which approved a loan relating to the project, claims this will strengthen the pipelines potential. In other news, a contract for the replacement of a pipeline on the east coast of Peninsular Malaysia has been awarded to Barmada McDermott, a J Ray McDermott affiliate, which could create oil and gas recruitment opportunities in the region.
