The fifth train at the Qatargas 2 project has come online and begun production, which could interest those looking at oil and gas recruitment opportunities in the region. Liquefied natural gas production is scheduled to reach 25 million tonnes per annum by the end of the year, with the new train contributing a total of 7.8 million tonnes. Faisal Al Suwaidi, chief executive officer and vice chairman of the organisation, claims it is a step towards its goals, those looking at oil and gas recruitment with the firm may be interested to discover. He says: "This is truly a remarkable achievement for Qatargas 2 and I would like to congratulate and thank all those who have made this possible … We are greatly proud to be able to contribute to this ambitious vision." New oil and gas recruitment opportunities could also be created by a joint venture between ConocoPhillips, Australia Pacific LNG and Origin Energy which will be working on Laird Point at Curtis Island.
