A heads of agreement deal has been signed for the Gorgon project which will see the Korea Gas Corporation (KGC) receive 1.5 million metric tonnes per annum of liquefied natural gas (LNG) per annum, those looking at oil and gas recruitment may be interested to discover. Chevron Corporation has extended the existing arrangement for a further five years and highlights the importance of the deal. KGCs status as the largest LNG buyer in the world gives the deal an added importance and the company states its intention to build on this relationship as the project progresses towards completion, those looking at oil and gas recruitment may be interested to discover. Jim Blackwell, president of Chevron Asia Pacific Exploration and Production Company, suggests this is a further sign that the scheme is doing well. He says: "Following the final investment decision in the Gorgon project, this agreement is another example of how Chevron is progressing the monetisation of its significant natural gas holdings in Australia."
