Jackets and piles for the Buzzard oil field’s fourth platform have been dispatched, those looking at oil and gas recruitment in the North Sea may be interested to discover. The Heerema Fabrication Group, which has three sites in the region, is transporting the components by barge, with the 3,500 tonne jacket and piles weighing 2,200 in transit to the site. Nexen’s oil field is based 30 miles from northeast of Peterhead in Scotland and, when complete, it is expected to hold more than one billion bbl, those looking for jobs through oil and gas recruitment may be interested to discover. Remco van Gilst, commercial manager of Heerema Vlissingen, claims that a number of factors contributed to the successful shipping of these components. He states: "Due to zero changes after design completion, timely procurement as well as our excellent relationship with the steel mill in Germany and the rolling mill in the Netherlands we were able to secure the tight delivery schedule of the jacket."
