ConocoPhillips and Saudi Aramco contract could aid oil and gas recruitment

Published on Wednesday 26th August 2009

ConocoPhillips and Saudi Aramco have chosen an engineering and procurement services company for the Yanbu Export Refinery Project, which interest those involved in oil and gas recruitment.

They have announced that KBR has signed a deal with the organisations and will now provide a utilities package, the interconnecting systems and pipe racks for the scheme.

ConocoPhillips joint venture is currently undergoing its engineering, procurement and construction tending process, which will decide on its project sponsors.

When complete, the fullconversion refinery will produce 400,000 barrels a day and KBR will also be involved in the frontend engineering and design services for the project.

John Quinn, president for KBRs downstream wing, claims that the award recognises the companys proven ability.

He says: "We look forward to providing further services to ConocoPhillips and Saudi Aramco for the successful execution of this significant project."

Last month, KBR announced that it had a solid backlog worth $12.3 billion (£7.5 billion) by the end of the second quarter of 2009.ADNFCR2586ID19328758ADNFCR
